Yo Gabba Gabba!

Saturday was a momentous occasion!! Yo Gabba Gabba was at the Vans store in Southlake. I'm assuming most of you without little ones have no idea what yo gabba gabba is. Honestly, it is kind of creepy. It is a show on Nick Jr consisting of lots of oddly shaped characters and a black man dressed in an orange jump suit with a furry hat. My sweet Kazleigh loves watching it because of the bright colors and songs! I put up with it because she loves it so.
We headed up to the Vans store at around 2pm assuming we would snap a few pictures with the characters and leave. I guess I just didn't understand how popular Yo Gabba Gabba really is. When we arrived we were surprised to see a HUGE line full of  dedicated screaming fans ready to meet the celebs! Apparently the line started forming at 8am. Wow! So we decided instead of Kazleigh getting a  picture with the creepy characters, her Papa Joe bought her a pair of the CUTEST hot pink "Foofa" high tops! They are the cutest shoes EVER!

Congrats to Katie and Austen! Kazleigh and I attended Katie and Austen's wedding reception/shower on Saturday as well. Austen is in the Air Force and due to military paperwork they had to get married at the courthouse a few weeks ago, so they had their party with family and friends this weekend. Like Bobby and I, they are also about to be relocated to a new duty station! They will only be a few hours away from us at Nellis AFB! They are such a cute couple and Katie is so sweet!

"I am (will be) a Phoenix!"

I am so excited to resume college! I spent most of today applying to University of Phoenix and getting my grants set up! I am planning on starting in January. Initially when I would always see the Phoenix University commercials I never paid any attention. I wrote it off as a college scam or something of the sort! Turns out it is the perfect program for me! Funny, huh? I get to stay home with Kazleigh and take online classes. The cool part about the schedule is that I take one class every 5 weeks, for the entire year! No breaks in between (with the exception of two weeks for Christmas). So I will actually be able to graduate with my bachelors in 2013. I am so excited! After looking into the school I started telling everyone about this awesome program I discovered.. and turns out my mother in law graduated from there and a few of my friends are taking classes there as well. When I learned this I felt like these people had been keeping a secret from me! How could they know about such a great program and withhold that information from me! I'm sure it wasn't intentional :) Anywho, I am so excited to start school back up! And even more excited that it is free! Yet another perk of being a military spouse! Without my grants I would be taking out $9500 a year in student loans. I am so glad I don't have to do that!

On another note, Bobby is coming home on Wednesday the 24th! I am so excited! I can't wait for him to see how much Kazleigh has grown in the past month! She has changed so much since mid-october (the last time he was home). I love that they have such a strong bond and each time he comes home they pick up right where they left off. Kazleigh is definitely a daddys girl. I am so ready for our family to be together again!

6 days until Bobby is home for Thanksgiving!
14 days until Bobby graduates with his FAA certification as an Air Traffic Controller!
21 days until we leave AS A FAMILY for Camp Pendleton!

Camp Pendleton Bound

Finally! We received our permanent duty station, reserved our on base town home, planned our big move, and are counting down the days! We have exactly 23 days until we leave for Oceanside! We couldn't be more excited. It has been 8 long months since Bobby left for bootcamp and we have learned and grown so much since he left. He is now only a few weeks away from graduating his MOS school with an FAA certification as an Air Traffic Controller. I am so proud of him for all of his hard work. Just so you can understand our journey so far I will break it down:

March 15 2010- Bobby bravely left his 6-week old daughter and wife of 6 months to begin his Marine Corp journey.

June 11 2010- 13 LONG (I emphasize L O N G) weeks, and hundreds of mushy gushy letters later, Bobby graduated from MCRD San Diego. He graduated with a meritorious promotion as a Private First Class (PFC). During bootcamp he was Squad leader of his platoon! After graduation Bobby had 10 short days to spend time with us! We had such a good time together. I loved watching him bond with his sweet Kazleigh.

June 21 2010- Bobby hopped on a plane and headed to Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California to complete his Marine Combat Training (MCT). It was much shorter then bootcamp, lasting only 4 weeks. Kazleigh and I stayed with another marine wife, Liz, whose husband, Jon, was in training with Bobby at MCT. Liz lives in Coronoa, CA which is only 45 minutes from Camp Pendleton. We got to visit our husbands every weekend! I am so very thankful for how generous Liz and her family were for letting us stay with them! We had so much fun!

July 25, 2010- Bobby graduated from MCT and was immediately sent to Pensacola Florida to begin his MOS school. He is now at NAS Pensacola and doing an amazing job in school. I'm confident that he will be very successful in his career as an Air Traffic Controller.

December 2, 2010- Bobby graduates MOS school with his FAA certification as an Air Traffic Controller!!! YAY!

We are so excited for the "training portion" of our journey to be completed and to finally resume our life living under the same roof again! We decided to live on base because it will be a really safe area to raise our sweet Kazleigh and its a great price for living 5 minutes from the beautiful Del Mar beach! We welcome all visitors!! :)

Our sweet baby Kazleigh is now 9 1/2 months old! I can't believe how grown up she is! She is crawling all over the house and pulling up on anything she can get her hands on. She only says three words,"Mama, Dada, and Hi", but she understands many many words! Today her Nana asked her to point to her baby doll's nose and we were shocked when she unsurely pointed to the baby dolls nose. She loves to wave and give kisses! I absolutely love watching her learn new things everyday and am so thankful that I am able to stay home with her. Being her mommy becomes more and more fun everyday!

I decided to make this blog so that you all can keep up with our day-to-day adventures at Camp Pendleton! I am so excited to share our experiences! Thanks for reading!
